Color
Dense purple with slight cloudiness, violet reflections
Nose
At first, plenty of dark fruit pours out of the glass. However, the fruit is wrapped in a silky, black cloak. The supple, dark fabric feels cool to the touch. Underneath, blueberry, cassis and blackberry hide in a puristic way. The fruits show themselves clear, fresh and precise. I would describe the wine overall as "naked", without wanting to awaken too many associations with exhibitionists in combination with the coat. Pure fruit, disturbed by almost nothing. Only little distraction in the form of delicate nuances of sage and thyme. The scent of cedar wood and cigar boxes unfolds with a little temperature in the glass.
Palate
On the palate, the Natural adds a fine but present tannin to the elegant, taut appearance. This gives it more profile and structure. Despite the very hot and dry climate there, it presents itself remarkably cool and lean. The tannin also offers plenty of resistance to the fruit in the form of bitter substances. In a pleasant way, one experiences astringency and animatingly tart notes on the palate at the same time. In the aftertaste, the fruit is no longer as radiantly clear as in the nose. Underwood, tobacco leaves and again cigar box support it tremendously.
