Explanation of cultivation methods:
This wine comes from grapes that were harvested by hand and then very gently pressed for five hours. This was done with a spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel vats.

Vineyard details:
This vineyard is situated in an exceptional spot in the Mäushöhle. The vineyards extend over several ancient sandstone terraces directly to the edge of the forest. This south-eastern slope offers a stunning view over the Rhine valley to the Black Forest. Through a gap in the valley, this higher piece of land still receives the evening sun. The stony and sandy soil yields only about 35 hl/ha.

Colour scheme:
The wine presents itself in a delicate golden yellow, with some green reflections.

Bouquet:
The Riesling Mäushöhle am Kirchberg from 2020 initially welcomes the connoisseur somewhat reservedly and very structured, but shows its mineral complexity immediately after pouring. After being transferred to the carafe, the wine gains momentum and unfolds aromas of green apple, citrus fruit, apricot and apricot zest. Smoky tones and hints of graphite, coupled with a precise cool appearance, take nothing away from its sublime personality.

Taste:
On the palate, the fruity bouquet continues with the addition of oranges and grapefruit. The effervescent acidity is masterfully integrated into the fruit fusion. A fine phenolic gives it grip and structure. This wine shows its true magnificence only after a few additional years of ageing. It is an excellent food companion.
It is recommended to decant this wine.

Culinary guide:
This wine is a delicate companion for hazelnut soup with root vegetables, sea bream papillotes with fresh herbs and tuna steak with peperonata. A delight!
