Nose

2019 Château Falfas combines a lot of race, animal spice and a subtle smoky tone on the nose. Wild cherry, raspberry as well as red currant and cassis contribute plenty of fruit. It seems wild, untamed and still somewhat restless. But this also has its charm. A touch of horse sweat and warm leather. But this is exactly where it belongs. Bergamot and lavender impart an unusual spectrum of aromas. Cinnamon plum, cinnamon rub as well as juniper and black pepper give off wintry, spicy nuances that suit it very well. With patience and oxygen in the glass, it unfolds its chocolaty side, which is successfully supported by roasted coffee beans. It benefits enormously from a metallic, cool component that makes it appear linear.

Palate

On the nose, it directly confirms the expectations of the nose. Astringent and gripping. Present but well integrated tannin. Discreet green nuances. A slight spiciness. Filigree due to a graphite note that brings plenty of coolness. The acidity shapes it pleasantly. The fruit seems small, slightly acidic and lingers long on the palate and especially in the finish. The idea of bergamot manifests itself again here. The animal notes are completely left on the palate. It is balanced and relaxed. Bordeaux can also drink well.
