Vincent Rochette, the proud owner of Domaine Roche-Audran, took over the vineyards around the venerable village of Visan from his parents and grandparents. Over 80,000 years ago, the soils of this domaine were formed during the Würm ice age. The vines, which are between 50 and 60 years old, thrive on stony and calcareous clay soils. Grenache grows on dark red topsoil, while Syrah is deeply rooted in the dark brown soil. The vineyards of this exclusively biodynamic winegrower are lined with oak trees, white and red clematis as well as various hedges and herbs. These small biotopes are important for a natural biological balance in the vineyards.
