Rotgipfler

The Thermenregion south of Vienna is the home of Rotgipfler, an indigenous treasure that owes its name to the reddish-shimmering tips of its vine shoots. As a natural descendant of Traminer and Roter Veltliner, this grape variety produces wines of remarkable stature and melting depth. Typical of Rotgipfler is a ripe pip fruit character reminiscent of yellow pears and quinces, supported by fine spice and well-integrated acidity. These are dense, textured white wines that pair wonderfully with hearty dishes featuring white meat.

Traditionally, the variety enters into a congenial marriage with Zierfandler. Our matured »Gumpoldskirchner 2017« showcases this classic partnership par excellence: here, the juicy apple fruit combines with a tart citrus freshness and a finely peppery finish, lending the wine a deep, unmistakably Austrian character.
