Jurançon

The Jurançon Noir grape variety, native to south-west France and closely bound to the landscapes of the Quercy, brings a wonderful, almost forgotten sense of origin to the glass. Born of a natural crossing of Folle Blanche and Cot, it owes this liaison its lively acidity and a fine, red-fruited spice at a pleasantly moderate alcohol level. It yields carefree, juicy wines of invigorating freshness, which pair beautifully with simple country cooking, fine pâtés or air-dried ham.

Just how excitingly this historic grape can express itself in modern, natural cuvées is demonstrated by the estate Clos Troteligotte. In the K-bo VdF, the Jurançon Noir joins forces with Gamay and the white variety Gibert to produce a luminous ruby-red, highly individual wine that captures the wild soul of its homeland with effortless charm.
