Garganega

Garganega is the undisputed white heart of the Veneto. On the limestone- and volcanic-rock-rich hills of northern Italy, this historic grape variety unfolds a fine balance of juicy fruit and structure-giving freshness. Characteristic of it is a subtle aromatic spectrum ranging from white almond blossom through ripe citrus fruits to delicate wild herbs. Whilst young wines shine above all through carefree drinkability, Garganega reveals a deep, almost saline minerality and a creamy texture with a little bottle age. How magnificently this structure develops is demonstrated by Ca’ La Bionda. In their Bianco del Casal, the variety combines harmoniously with Trebbiano to produce a wine that brings the terroir-driven character of the region into the glass with a fine flint note and a juicy presence.
