The Spektra more than skilfully reflects the possibilities of the marriage of white and red in one bottle. As a non-vintage cuvée of Zweigelt and Welschriesling, it marries Welsch from the Breitenacker in Gols with Zweigelt from the Jungenberg in Jois. White and red from loam and slate, partly pressed, partly fermented with whole grapes. The reds were racked and pressed after eight days on the skins and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Color
Bright cherry red, transparent and clear.
Nose
Cherries, rosehips, mallow and hibiscus stream from the chalice like lemmings to the cliff. There are also notes of herbal tea, blackcurrant and blackberry leaf and delicate citrus notes reminiscent of dried orange slices. The transparent, shimmering red fruit oscillates between floral and spicy notes and quickly leads the slightly pursed lips to the chalice.
Mouth
The Spektra from Martin, Andreas and Lydia Nittnaus is a formidable thirst quencher with a fruity, tart attack. Bone-dry with distinctive red fruit on the palate, it is contoured by almost transparent phenolics on the tongue, which not only support it aromatically, but also fuel the drinking speed. The ripe acidity is structurally linked to the tannins and lulls it into a bacchic balance. Bottle empty - fire brigade!
