Wine Description for Tokaji Cuvée Patricia 2018 500ml by Királyudvar

Colour & Appearance
Radiant, luminous golden yellow – the wine gleams in the glass like liquid sunlight and already hints visually at ripeness and concentration.
Nose
The nose is of beguiling elegance: lemon curd and vanilla in still-warm puff pastry open the play, followed by delicate notes of linden blossom and rose. Beneath shimmer cool stone and a whisper of mint. Despite the palpable concentration, the nose strikes a remarkably buoyant and bright character – a promise that the palate delivers on.
Palate
On the palate, the wine unfolds across multiple dimensions simultaneously: a slightly viscous, silky creaminess lends it nobility, whilst a present, vital acidity balances the 153 grams of residual sugar with remarkable lightness. The subtly bitter-herbal interplay of lemon zest steeped in limoncello, complemented by mint and a whisper of sage, imparts the wine with complex, multifaceted depth. The fullness is real, yet the wine carries it effortlessly.
Finish
Towards the finale, the wine becomes remarkably bright and weightless – a rare feat at this level of sweetness and concentration. The finish is long, aromatically precise and leaves a mineral-fresh memory.
Terroir & Origin
The grapes hail from the renowned Danczka vineyard site in Tokaj, one of the world’s most tradition-steeped wine regions. The location lends the wine its characteristic mineral coolness and tension.
Grape Variety & Vinification
100 % Sárga Muskotály (Yellow Muscat), harvested on 17th and 18th September 2018. Following spontaneous fermentation, the wine matured for six months in 2.25-hectolitre casks of Slavonian oak – an élevage that imparts depth without overwhelming the variety’s characteristic freshness.
Food Pairing Suggestions
An ideal companion to Bleu de Chèvre with pear chutney, duck pâté with light fruit bread or an elegant lemon tart with sage – the latter directly echoes the wine’s aromatic signature.
Special Characteristics
The Cuvée Patricia is a rare example that sweetness and lightness need not be contradictory. With just 11 % alcohol and a precise acid structure, Királyudvar achieves a dessert wine and food companion of extraordinary refinement – a Tokaji that delights not through weight, but through buoyancy.
