The Argent line seems to be the joker in the Gramona family, where Xarel-lo otherwise sets the tone. In fact, this single-varietal Chardonnay is a tribute to the sparkling wine ancestors in Champagne who brought the art of second fermentation in the bottle to the Penedès. The Chardonnay grows in the 23-year-old Mas Escorpí vineyard on limestone soils. The Gramona family cultivates a great love for Champagne grape varieties and makes a limited number of this Corpinnat from small yields, which brings acidity, length and complexity to perfection in the glass.
Only 50% of the must is gently pressed from the whole grapes. Aged for 44 months in the bottle under natural cork and shaken and disgorged by hand. Dosage of 6 grams.
Color
Lemon yellow with silver reflections, fine perlage
Nose
Intense nose, characterised by citrus fruits and white flowers, a hint of walnut and a light herbal spiciness underpinned by a scent of ripe apple.
Palate
It is also complex on the palate. Mineral, powerful and slightly salty with fine acidity and a clearly present perlage. The harmonious citrus aromas and fine apple fruit are refreshing, the nutty finish brings a full-bodied creamy nuance that lasts for a long time.
Drinking temperature 8-10°C
