Color
Purple red with violet reflections and black core.
Nose
The 2017 Sirualta Morat from Alfredo Arribas Vins Nus, made from 90% Syrah and 10% Viognier, takes no hostages. With dark, black cherry fruit and pomegranate seeds on the attack, a light reduction note and hints of black pepper are followed by a concentrated load of Syrah. Fully ripe and spicy, it reminds of cassis leaves and blackberry leaves with notes of chocolate and dried beef.
Mouth
On the palate, the lush, juicy fruit is cool thanks to the present minerality and the absence of any sulfur addition. With a good grip, the zero-intervention wine quickly picks up speed and flows over the palate of the taster at a good pace. Grown on red loam at about 780 meters above sea level, it combines the power and spiciness of Syrah with an animating freshness and rich, hedonistic fruit.
