"Forest fruit such as sloe, blackberry and blueberry fight their way through the thicket of moss-covered branches and are gently coated in a very thin and lightly black pepper flavoured glaze of dark chocolate and cocoa chips": The subtle smokiness and peatiness of an Islay whisky and a feel-good aroma of summer truffles, spruce needles and cedar nuts, as well as rosemary and nutmeg, bring depth and spice and allow instant satisfaction to fill the glass.

Color

Intense ruby red with a sheer opaque core and garnet rim, the wine appears clear and bright in the glass.

Nose

This Pinot Noir from the Loire Valley is as delicate and fragrant as it is rich, powerful and sheer gloom. Fruit from the forest, such as sloe, blackberry and blueberry, fights its way through the thicket of moss-covered branches and is gently covered by a very thin glaze of dark chocolate and cocoa chips, lightly flavoured with black pepper. The subtle smokiness and peatiness of an Islay whisky and a feel-good aroma of summer truffles, spruce needles and cedar nuts, as well as rosemary and nutmeg, bring depth and spice and let instant satisfaction fill the glass.

Palate

On the palate, this aromatic round dance is repeated with charismatic finesse and clears the table. Dark berry fruit combines with peppery spice and earthy depth. In alternation, they skillfully trump each other and, despite all their differences, swing in unison in the same phase. Velvety, yet character-giving tannins nestle on the palate and are formed by a harmoniously integrated acidity to an elegant-looking face. Unobtrusive, yet determined, the 2015 Génération Dix-Neuf Sancerre Rouge by Alphonse Mellot caresses the amygdala and provides on the one hand for holistic well-being and on the other hand for an enriching plus of lasting wine enjoyment.

If one has the urgent need to compare this head of character to some extent with Burgundy, the most obvious thing is probably great wine from Pommard.

However, it is better left to its own devices.
