Colour & Appearance

Muted garnet red with vibrant violet reflections – a wine that already reveals its Burgundian DNA in the glass.

Nose

Pure finesse on the bouquet: wild raspberries, mulberries and blackcurrants dominate, underpinned by elderflower and sloe. These are joined by sage, delicate wood smoke notes, cinnamon and noble dark chocolate – a complex, multi-layered aromatic profile that places elegance before power.

Palate

Here the true class reveals itself: the wine practically explodes with juicy freshness and Burgundian acidity structure. Red and dark fruit merge with herbal notes and a distinctive earthy minerality that lends the whole depth and authenticity. Still youthful and somewhat exuberant, yet of impressive coherence. At 14.5% alcohol, powerful without feeling heavy.

Finish

Medium to long, with persistent fruit and mineral aftertaste. The freshness carries through to the end.

Terroir & Origin

Domaine Vacheron ranks among the benchmark estates in Sancerre. Whilst the region is primarily known for its Sauvignon Blanc, the Vacherons have demonstrated for decades that Pinot Noir can also achieve great things on the limestone soils of the Loire. The „Belle Dame“ cuvée comes from a selection of the finest parcels.
