Tasting note
Character
A red-fruited Burgundy classic of crystalline purity and vibrant energy. This Pinot Noir embodies pure Burgundian elegance, defined by unadulterated freshness, a firm structure and remarkable transparency on the palate.
Terroir & Origin
The grapes originate from the “Clos des Roses” monopole in Pommard, on the Côte de Beaune. In these renowned sites, Pierre-Henri Rougeot’s estate consistently focuses on biodynamic viticulture and pure hand labour in the vineyard, bringing the unadulterated power of the soil into the wine.
Grape Variety & Vinification
Crafted from Pinot Noir. In the historic 18th-century cellar, Rougeot works with minimal intervention: vinification is carried out using whole-bunch fermentation and spontaneous fermentation driven by indigenous yeasts. Ageing takes place in traditional Burgundy barrels without bâtonnage, entirely omitting the addition of sulphur to preserve the natural clarity of the fruit.
Food Pairings
An outstanding match for pan-roasted duck breast, classic Boeuf Bourguignon, seared rack of lamb served pink or aged Comté.
