Color:
Muted garnet red with distinct lightening towards the rim.
Nose:
The 2012 Pernand-Vergelesse "îLE des Vergelesses" Premier Cru Rouge shows mellow fruit and beautiful maturity. In addition to wild raspberry and renette apple, notes of forest leaves, undergrowth, a hint of cocoa and subtle incense emerge from the glass. Already the scent of this beautifully ripe drop awakens the desire for fine dishes with mushrooms, game and wild fowl.
Palate:
Fascinating how fresh and almost youthful it then presents itself on the tongue, with cool fruit, stimulating acidity and fresh raspberry notes. At the same time, however, there are also many umami notes of shiitake mushrooms, soy sauce and truffles. With a fine salinity and pronounced minerality, it lingers on the tongue for a long time. Ready to drink, this fine drop!
