Wine information
Lo Mon 2017 is an organic red wine made by the Trossos del Priorat winery from the Garnacha, Cariñena, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah grape varieties. Such a blend of indigenous and international grapes is quite common in the Priorat wine-growing region and was particularly widespread at the turn of the millennium. The vines grow on the famous slate soils of Priorat and the cuvée matures for 12 months in French barriques.

Nose
This red wine offers a nose of spicy and sweet wood tones, ripe black cherry and mulberry. Overall, the bouquet is complex and also contains notes of cedar wood, pencil and liquorice.
Palate
Lo Mon 2017 represents a style of wine that made Priorat popular and famous in the 1990s - densely structured, with generous use of barriques and correspondingly sweet and spicy wood flavours. There is also a mineral undertone that adds complexity. The wine radiates Mediterranean warmth, yet is fresh and intense. It also has a full body without being heavy. Overall, it is an opulent red wine, balanced and soft on the finish, to which the sweetish tannins, velvety mouthfeel and ripe fruit contribute.
