Color
In dark purple with ruby rim and black core, the wine appears clear and shiny in the glass.
Nose
With the grace of a just baked dark chocolate soufflé, the scent of this Catalan cuvée of Grenache, Carignan, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon rises beguilingly to the nose. In addition to this dark and warm spice of roasted cocoa shells, the wine is faithfully accompanied by red berry fruit. This is reflected in the form of blackberry, blueberry and cranberry. However, refreshingly also rhubarb compote, rounding refined with red pepper and a hint of clove.
Palate
On the palate, the 2013 Lo Món from Trossos del Priorat celebrates its homeland, Gratallops, with pride. The heat stored in it has been transformed into sheer energy. Its dark berry fruit emerges powerful and rich, but shows no sign of excessive breadth, instead stretching out in a straightforward manner. Ripe tannins give the firm body a secure footing for a very long time. The blending of the grape varieties proves to be extremely successful. The Cabernet Sauvignon, which is often a self-centered wine even in small quantities, plays an important but only a supporting role.
After five years, the wine shows itself ready to be drunk for the first time, but looks forward to a great future.
