Information about the wine:
An exclusive cuvée of Grenache and Syrah, with a limited production of only 5157 bottles, 99 magnums and 16 double magnums.
About the expansion:
The hand-harvested grapes had a low yield of 15 hl/ha and were fermented in their pure form for 12 days. The final maturation took place in concrete tanks and some used barriques.
Color:
Deep, overcast black-red, glowing with gossamer shades of garnet at the edges.
Aroma:
The 2015 La Pierre Noir Cuvée presents a harmonious interplay of fruity charm and deep, stony minerality. Aromas of sweet black cherries, blackberry compote, dried dates and liquid chocolate mingle with notes of wood smoke, tobacco and black olives. Its herbaceous freshness and floral accents of violets and lavender give this wine a feminine and seductive appeal.
Taste:
On the palate, La Pierre Noir presents itself in a lively, fresh manner. The juicy, sweet fruit is accompanied by a ripe, yet firm and youthful tannin structure. Salty and stony aromas determine its character and characterise the long-lasting finish. A wine that promises enormous development potential and is currently best enjoyed decanted.
Recommended dishes:
1. roasted beetroot with a touch of fresh rosemary
2. grilled fillet of venison with a delicate thyme-honey glaze and polenta
3. roast pork, finished with port wine onions and accompanied by creamy mashed potatoes.
