Wine Description for Invitation Extra Brut Base 2021 1500ml Magnum by Huré Frères

Colour & Appearance
Vibrant straw yellow with a seductive hint of copper – a telltale sign of the Meunier component. The perlage is fine and persistent, as befits a serious Champagne.
Nose
The name says it all: Invitation opens the door with grand gestures. Warm pastry, ripe apricot and peach form the fragrant core, flanked by a whisper of vanilla, ripe apple, a delicate cherry note and the unmistakable aroma of crushed limestone. Inviting, complex, yet never intrusive.
Palate
On the palate, a mouth-filling, vibrant mousseux unfolds, carrying bright fruit – citrus, pome fruit, stone fruit – and enriched by an elegant crème pâtissière note. The Champagne never feels heavy; quite the opposite: it displays agility and freshness, builds pressure and develops a pronounced mineral vein with fine herbal and stony spice.
Finish
Long, precise and well-balanced. The finale unites vibrant acidity, a barely perceptible yet harmonising residual sweetness (4.5 g/l dosage) and aromatic complexity into a satisfying conclusion. Not a gram of dosage too much.
Terroir & Origin
The grapes hail from Montagne de Reims – the villages of Ludes and Villedommange – as well as from Vitriats Vavray Grand. A terroir renowned for structure, depth and mineral bite.
Grape Variety & Vinification
Cuvée composed of 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Meunier and 20% Chardonnay. The base is the vintage 2021, supplemented by 25–40% reserve wines from a Solera – a process that lends the wine depth and consistency. Disgorged in November 2024, Extra Brut with 4.5 g/l dosage.
Special Features
The 1500-ml magnum bottle is more than just a format – it is a promise. Champagne matures in the magnum more slowly and evenly, preserving freshness and complexity over the years. The Invitation from brothers François and Pierre Huré is their flagship – and in this size, a Champagne for special occasions.
