Info
The Naked red is a non-vintage.
Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch are dominant, supported by St. Laurent and others.
The vines are located both to the west and to the east of Lake Neusiedl. On the slopes of the Leithagerbiges, they tend to grow on limestone and slate. On the other side, the gravel soils of the Parndorfer Platte and the humus-heavy Heideboden form the basis.
The harvest took place at the end of August to mid-September. Spontaneous fermentation for two weeks in wooden fermentation racks and in steel tanks on the skins. It is then allowed to mature in wooden fermentation racks for more than one year.
Color
Dark cherry red with dark core and light rim
Nose
The nose is dark, appealing and spicy. A smorgasbord of aromas reveals cassis, elderberry, blackberry and sour cherry. The fruit is compact, but never concentrated, but crisp and refreshing. A hint of liquorice makes itself felt and brings an ethereal freshness into play. The aniseed note is pleasant and varied. This is joined by a fine spiciness of juniper and green pepper. Plenty of garden herbs ensnare it with additional refreshing moments.
Palate
It starts with tension and grip on the palate. It seems juicy and silky at the same time. Enormously slender in its appearance and thus even more appealing. The fruit clearly changes towards raspberry and especially sour cherry. Otherwise, the spiciness decreases significantly on the palate, but the drinking flow and fun factor increase significantly.
