Wine information
The terraced vines from which this wine comes are a remarkable 22 years old and were planted with Garnacha. They are complemented by 13-year-old Carignan vines that grow in the climatic area of Porrera. The 2021 harvest took place between the 4th and 16th of September and resulted in a manageable harvest of only 16hl/ha. After the grapes had macerated for a total of four weeks, natural fermentation began in the presence of wild yeasts in three large French oak barrels. The wine then matured for 18 months in two of these barrels and in a 1000-litre amphora before being bottled. A total of 9975 bottles of this wine were produced.

Color
This wine presents itself in a deep, saturated black red that extends to the rim.

Nose
Already on the nose, the 2019 Planetes "Classic" shows that it is both powerful and elegant. It fills the nose with a lush fruitiness and distinctive earthy notes. Scents of black cherries, dark berries in syrup and stewed plums mingle with the aroma of fine dark chocolate, alongside notes of wild Mediterranean herbs and spices such as pepper, cloves and cardamom. All these components result in a wine with a multitude of facets that are already noticeable on the nose.

Palate
On the tongue, it unfolds like a carpet of dark fruits, surrounded by the herbs and spices that characterise the bouquet. Despite its power, it shows a lively acidity and tannin structure that still appears pleasantly youthful. This wine whets the appetite for more and goes perfectly with strong and aromatic dishes. It is best served slightly chilled.

Food recommendations
Try the wine with a gratin of parsnips and aubergine with thyme jus. A roast rack of lamb with sugar-glazed bacon beans offers another harmonious combination. For a more exotic variation, you can also serve it with duck with an oriental-style spice crust and couscous with sultanas.
