Wine information
El Mas de l'A is Alfredo Arribas' latest project in the DOQ Priorat. His red wine Racorell 2020 is a blend of the widespread red wine grape Garnacha Tinta as well as its rarely occurring mutations Garnacha Peluda and Garnacha Gris . The wine was fermented spontaneously in concrete tanks. The wine then matured for 12 months in barrels and half-barrels.
Color
Cherry red with purple edges
Nose
Racorell has a strikingly fresh and expressive nose of crisp red berries, floral aromas and a delicate hint of pepper. The bouquet is not only aromatically extremely stimulating, but also has its own character.
Palate
On the palate, the wine is totally juicy and fresh with a wonderfully straightforward acidity. It has a silky texture, fine-grained tannin and an elegant red fruitiness. The finish is of medium length. It drinks away dangerously easy. This wine has nothing whatsoever to do with the heavy, dense and woody Priorat as it was known 15 years ago. Here, the focus is clearly on drinkability. Racorell is certainly a great companion for many dishes.
