Originally from Greece, the Corinto grape grows at an altitude of 350m on volcanic and sandy soil. The destemmed grapes are fermented for ten days in French barriques with multiple submersions of the cap. Malolactic fermentation then takes place in 500 litre barrels before the wine is bottled unfiltered and unfined after one year.

Nose

At first, it's like a trip to the Bordelais. Plums, blackberry and cassis. In addition black pepper, some leather, coffee and graphite. Dark fruit, spice and cool elegance combined. The nose reveals a great complexity and one hardly wants to stop smelling into it to discover new things. Especially the roasted aromas around coffee and dark chocolate show themselves in a rarely gallant Gewandt.

Palate

On the palate, this thought disappears. Above all, the Corinto lives from grip and structure. Racy and elegant at the same time. With a lot of pressure and a flattering silky mouthfeel, it seems sublime like a great Pinot Noir. And yet it shows its clearly more southern climate. All receptors jump on the palate and the water literally runs together in the mouth. It encourages you to drink more and somehow makes you really thirsty. With dark spice and plenty of spices like cinnamon, clove and star anise, it lingers on the palate for a long time. Coffee cream, dark chocolate and cocoa butter push the finish again and again. Really strong!
