Color
The medium, slightly developed straw tone, not quite clear, attracts attention.
Nose
Biancu Gentile, Vermentinu, Genovese come together here to express the character of Clos Venturi most concisely. Thus, the flowers and herbs of the maquis are in the foreground, but immediately followed by lemon zest, cedar lemons and an amazing smoky minerality. The lemon tones become increasingly spicy with lemon thyme, lemon verbena, salt lemon and a hint of resinous incense.
Mouth
The twelve months on the lees give the white Chiesa Nera its creamy richness and complex expression with aromas of tangerines, quince, but also white peaches and apricots, anise, sage and thyme. But from the onset there is an underlying and persistent saltiness reminiscent of seaweed. Fermentation and aging in concrete eggs enhance the minerality and tension, with natural freshness forcing citrus character and length. One of the best whites of Corsica.
