About the wine
This fascinating drop comes from the residence of the Armenian family, who are the proud owners of 13 plots in the renowned Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. There we find a diverse range of soil types - the famous rolled pebbles, which lie over a clay-rich subsoil and optimally store water, to red-coloured sandstone soil, colluvial sediments and chalky soils from the Cretaceous period, which give the wine a distinct tension. The dominant grape is Grenache Noir, whose expression is refined by the addition of Mourvèdre, Syrah and Cinsault. Manual harvesting and careful selection of the grapes are the basis for the quality of this wine. After destemming and crushing, they are cooled and then stored in tanks where they have time and space to ferment naturally. The ageing process, which takes place for 18 months in concrete tanks, is completed by the use of some barrels and older 350-litre barrels.

The appearance
This Châteauneuf du Pape "Vielles Vignes" from 2020 presents itself in an intense garnet red with violet nuances.

The aroma
The nose perceives deep, powerful aromas that show a fascinating range from sweet berries, figs, dates to chocolate, roasted hazelnuts, cocoa and sweet mocha. This wine is a true aromatic depth experience that invites you to lose yourself in it.

On the palate
An impressive density and concentration unfolds on the palate. This wine, which calls for strong cuisine, offers promising development potential in the years to come. Its minerality and structure, designed to last decades, demands patience from the connoisseur. For those who cannot wait, we recommend decanting the wine and enjoying it from large glasses, served slightly chilled.

Matching dishes
For an ideal wine pairing, we recommend intensely spiced dishes such as roasted goose liver with cranberry sauce, roast wild hare with a strong sauce served with Brussels sprouts and celeriac puree, or a savoury blue cheese tartlet served with blackcurrants and dark chocolate.
