Color
An opaque cherry red with hints of violet announces the allure of this wine.
Nose
The 2020 Barbera d'Alba, created by the skilful hands of Chiara Boschis & E. Pira & Figli, allows a charming and juicy fruit aroma to blossom with its fragrance. Memories of dark cherries, rich berries and the sweetness of cassis liqueur rise. The inviting and fruity experience is complemented by subtle hints of the finest dark chocolate, coffee undertones and liquorice, joined by the toasted notes of Mediterranean herbs; rosemary and thyme seem to waft through like a light summer breeze.
Palate
With its juicy sweetness, this drop literally dances across the palate. Its ripe tannin as well as its delicate acidity underline its engaging character. A truly enticing wine that inevitably draws the connoisseur under its spell. One is immediately transported into a feeling of dolce vita; all that is missing is the perfect culinary accompaniment!
The following dishes are recommended to go with this wine:
Garganelli pasta with rocket, green olives, capers and Tropea onions marinated in balsamic vinegar;
Grilled cuttlefish with a lukewarm salad of gnocchi and tomatoes braised in olive oil, finished with an anchovy dressing;
Pork Ribeye roasted and stuffed with fresh figs and Taleggio cheese.
