Info
The grapes come from the flat, humus-rich sites in the Heideboden, the gravelly sites on the Parndorfer Platte and the limestone and slate-rich slopes west of the lake.
Vinification
Hand-picked at the beginning of September 2019, spontaneous fermentation for a fortnight in wooden fermentation racks and left on the skins for a fortnight in steel tanks. Matured for over 3 years in wooden fermentation racks and in used 500-litre oak barrels.
Color
Intense violet red, slightly clouded with purple reflections.
Nose
The 2019 Zweigelt from Heinrich shows plenty of charming fruit on the nose - blackberry, dark cherry, blackcurrant and elderberry dance the round dance. The fruit is complemented by a savoury, spicy note reminiscent of beetroot, pepper, wood smoke and spicy bacon. Fragrant elderflower and a hint of peony also entice you to take your first sip.
Palate
The juicy fruit is infused with stimulating freshness and a fine-grained tannin structure. Slightly chilled, it immediately triggers sip reflexes and is particularly enjoyable when paired with delicious, down-to-earth cuisine.
