Color

Bright purple red with delicate violet reflections, transparent and bright.

Nose

A beguiling perfume flows from the goblet, even before the inclined drinker can move his nose in its direction. Ethereally opulent aromas of fully ripe black cherries, blackberries and blood orange zest spill out of the glass. An ethereal balsamic veil hovers over the opulent fruit notes, adding subtle spice notes of clove and licorice. Laurel and undergrowth round off the oeuvre, not without contributing floral notes of violets and rose petals.

Mouth

On the palate, the 2010 Les Marnes Pinot Noir from Domaine Vacheron shows its feminine side. Fragrant and delicate, but with the backbone of an Iron Lady. Its tannins are ripe, tightly woven, yet always fine and silky. The acid arc is long-swinging, giving the wine its freshness and elegance. Despite all its delicacy, it is resolute and steadfast. Enjoyed young, it belongs at least in large glasses, but better for a few years in the cellar.
