Casa Coste Piane is located in the heart of the classic Prosecco region in Santo Stefano di Valdobbiadene. The farm covers a good six hectares and is managed entirely organically. The vineyards are situated between 250 and 400 metres above sea level on lean marl soils, the vines are on average 80 years old. Coste Piane's vine material comes exclusively from selected vines, propagated with the selection Massale for a well-mixed gene pool without clones. The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand and only the juice from the first pressing, the tete de cuvée, is used before the must ferments spontaneously with its own yeasts. In spring, the must, which is not yet complete, is racked according to ancient tradition to finish fermentation in the bottle. Casa Coste Piane is part of the Consorzio Vini Veri, which aims to produce natural wines and restore the perfect balance between human intervention and the cycles of nature. With only one gram of residual sugar, the Valdobbiadene Prosecco is crisply dry.

Color

Pale yellow with green reflections and silky opacity.

Nose

Floral notes of lime blossom and elder mingle with delicate yeasty notes and ethereal accents of brook mint. Underneath, notes of wet chalk, green hazelnuts and biscuits slumber. Light-footed and delicate, it quickly makes the lips purse towards the glass.

Mouth

With a fine mousseux, the Valdobbiadene Prosecco from Casa Coste Piane is gentle on the palate with fine yeasty notes and a creamy melt. The restrained acidity is harmoniously integrated into the overall appearance. Animating and stimulating, this is one of the few Proseccos that was produced according to the old method as it was 100 years ago and offers charming drinking pleasure without any rusticity.
