Wine information
In the 1980s, white wines still accounted for well over twenty percent of production in Rioja. Then their share shrank to six percent at times. For some years now, they have been experiencing a revival - thanks to such characterful and interesting wines as Tentenublo Blanco. This wine is made from the autochthonous white wine varieties Viura, Jaén Blanca, Malvasia Riojana and Garnacha Blanca. The vines are between 45 and 65 years old. The fermentation of the grapes and the 8-month yeast storage take place in wooden barrels and concrete tanks.

Nose
At the beginning, the wine has quite a strong and rustic bouquet, especially earthy-mineral. You can literally smell the wet stone. With a few hours of airing, it becomes clearly more floral and elegant in the fragrance. White flowers come to the fore, as do herbs. You should definitely decant it, unless you like it a little more austere.
Palate
The attack is fresh and the Tentenublo Blanco keeps its good acidity until the end. Despite its full-bodied, creamy texture, this white wine appears grippy and straightforward. There is nothing broad, the wine has tension. It is fun to drink. Discreet tannin indicates some skin contact during fermentation. A slight bitterness on the finish, which is animating, further adds to the complexity. This is a gastronomic white wine that just cries out for a food accompaniment.
