Wine information
A cuvée of 60 % Carricante and 40 % Moscato Bianco from the island of Lipari. The vines stand at 350 metres above sea level as single Albarello stems in sandy volcanic soils. The grapes were harvested by hand, pressed directly and fermented in steel tanks at 16 to 18 °C after must clarification and matured on the lees with bâtonnage for six months.
Color
pale straw yellow
Nose
The Bianco Porticello is a light-coloured, fragrant wine. It is reminiscent of apples and lemons, white flowers and mugwort, mint, sage and nutmeg. Taken all together, this is a fresh, herbal and aromatic wine with a slightly iodised breeze that makes you think of a few hours at the beach.
Palate
The cuvée also has a fresh, slightly tart flavour on the palate. There is plenty of bright apple, lemon and lime fruit here. The wine is pleasantly off-dry, offers a light extract, a vibrant freshness and the flavour of nutmeg and the spray of the nearby sea on the palate.
