Wine profile
A full-bodied Syrah comes from the esteemed Entrevon growing area in Malaucène, positioned on the northern flank of the picturesque Mont Ventoux at an altitude of 350 metres. The soil is characterised by its origin from the third Miocene period and its sandy texture. The grapes were hand-picked on 9 September 2020, destemmed to 90% and fermented for twelve days in a concrete tank. The ageing process lasted eleven months in stainless steel and nine months in bottle, resulting in a production of 1,581 bottles.

Bouquet
The 2020 Entrevon delights the senses with a fusion of yeasty notes and fruit, culminating in a plum cake symphony, fresh from the oven. With sufficient aeration, its fleshy side emerges, interwoven with notes of dark fruit, hints of cassis and cherries. Accents of dark chocolate and black olive tapenade round out the bouquet, while a hint of matured beef remains constant.
Sample
On the palate, the 2020 Entrevon presents itself as a balanced, deep Syrah with an impressive symbiosis of freshness and maturity. The tannin is mostly fine-grained, but still carries a pithy note. The acidity is lively, yet the fruit is warming and dark. A composition of forest fruits, plums and cassis, rounded off with some cherries, peat, violets and a hint of olive tapenade characterise it. Its character is powerful, yet elegant, juicy and fleshy!
Food suggestions
Bring out the flavours of the wine even more by combining it with chickpeas, artichokes and black olive tapenade or squid stuffed with spinach and olives. Or enjoy it with a wonderfully aromatic lamb goulash.
