The Campo Rotaliano is a demarcated geographical area and lies like an indentation of the Adige Valley between the mountain ridges. Its formation is inextricably linked to the Noce River, which has been carrying limestone, granite and porphyry debris for centuries. Within the Campo Rotaliano, different microzones can be distinguished according to their soil characteristics, which have been given different names by the winegrowers. The single vineyard "Sgarzon" is 2.5 hectares in size and consists of pebbly and sandy alluvial soils in Campo Rotaliano. "Sgarzon" literally means 'shoot' in the Trentino dialect. The vines are particularly active there and benefit from the cooler climate, which endows Teroldego with unusual freshness. The wines are fermented spontaneously and aged for eight months in amphorae with skin contact. The annual production averages 12,000 bottles
Color
Purple red with violet reflections and black core.
Nose
The 2020 Sgarzon Teroldego by Elisabetta Foradori already wraps you around its finger in its youthful stage. It openly chats about dark fruits like black cherries, wild plums and tart fruits like elderberry or cranberry. In addition, there are floral notes reminiscent of mallow and vegetal notes, complemented by a little dark tobacco.
Mouth
On the palate, the Sgarzon is disciplined and restrained, contrary to all the promises of the nose. Instead of rich fruit flab, it shines with ascetic extract and a driving pulse on the palate, fuelled by the wine's agile and stimulating acid structure. Ascetically tart with a tight body and joyfully fruity finish, the goblet empties itself one after the other.
