Fernando Remírez de Ganuza had an ambitious goal when he founded the bodega in 1989 To one day make the best wine in the region. His work as a land agent at the time helped him to buy the best and oldest vineyards. His meticulous and sustainable approach has paid off. Robert Parker Jr. has already dubbed the bodega the Spanish equivalent of Château Latour. A special feature is the selection of the vines. Only the shoulders of the vines are used for the Reserva wines, as these offer more concentration and elegance. The tops go into the young wine, which is not available in Germany. For the Trasnocho, a membrane bag filled with water is also used, which presses the grapes particularly gently overnight without the grape seeds bursting open.
