Wine information
The Orphée is a single-varietal Sauvignon Blanc from Guillaume Sorbe. The fruit comes from plots in Reuilly, more precisely in Chery, with quite young vines on predominantly clayey-limestone soils, but also on soils with pebbles and red sand. After spontaneous fermentation, the wine was aged for three years, partly in tank, but mainly in used 400- and 600-litre barrels. Since the 2018 vintage, the Reuilly as Vin de France declared.

Nose
Guillaume Sorbes Orphée is a discreet, quiet and still introverted Sauvignon Blanc that smells of white flowers, limes, cassis leaves, fennel pollen and white and green berries. There is also some chalk, herbs, ground cover and notes of yeast. The wine appears ripe and full on the nose, yet very clear and precise.
Palate
On the palate, the wine is flattering but at the same time concentrated with an initially silky texture and a firm structure. Gradually, the power, depth and pressure of the acidity become apparent, pushing the wine to the back of the palate. The Orphée becomes increasingly crisp with air, the saltiness becomes more apparent and so does the liveliness. Finesse and sensuality are at the forefront here, despite the volume, extract and uncompromisingly dry style.
