Nose

In absolute Rebholz style, the Siebeldingen Sonnenschein Riesling Grosses Gewächs is extremely delicate, ethereal and delicately fruity. Its fruit is extremely subtle, but at the same time persistent. White peach, Nashi pear and mirabelle plum spread out pleasantly but intensely. Bergamot zest and kaffir lime leaves support it splendidly. In the background, its cooling herbal spice pushes forward powerfully. Eucalyptus, mint and lemon balm form the strong ethereal flank. On the other hand, thyme and sage also come into their own in a somewhat shy form. It has vegetal nuances in the form of pea and fennel. It is enormously harmonious and complete in itself.

Palate

Rebholz stands for absolutely great storage potential. This 2022 is also a long-distance runner. Full of race and structure, it builds up. Packed with plenty of phenolics, it builds up powerful pressure on the palate. Densely woven and extremely tightly woven. Then the acidity structure snaps in like a lasso. Yum! Fruit and acidity duel in an enormously animating way. Its stony, chalky flavour adds the proverbial salt to the soup.

Figuratively speaking, yellow and green become blurred. The herbal, ethereal and vegetal aromas of the nose currently determine the aroma profile here. From experience, I can promise that the fruit will increase with maturity. A very drinkable and slender Riesling GG. Nevertheless, it is full of flavour density and complexity.
