Info about the wine
Above the estate's tuffeau caves on the first Vouvray plateau on a southern exposure, Le Mont is one of the most appreciated vineyards in the appellation, known for its history and long-lived wines.
Info about the situation
Nine hectares of pebbly flint soil and deep green clay provide a unique expression of the Chenin Blanc variety. Its terroir brings out intensity and minerality as well as a refined structure supported by a beautiful acidity.
Color
Light golden yellow.
Nose
The 2018 Vouvray Le Mont Demi Sec seduces on the nose with a pronounced minerality reminiscent of smoke, flint, limestone and sea air. Delicately sweet fruit notes of candied apple, quince jelly and orange emerge from the glass after a longer opening, including iodine and delicately tart aromas.
Palate
At the palate it presents itself very charming with fine sweetness. The mineral notes of the nose come to bear here even more and stimulate pleasantly. The whole is accompanied by a fresh acidity and a fine tannin note. The wine has grip and depth. In the long aftertaste, we encounter impressions that remind us of bitter orange jam and orange zest. An extremely exciting white wine, which is only at the beginning of its development and which will develop beautifully in the next few years.
Be sure to decant and enjoy not too cold from large glasses.
