The Corzanello Rosato consists mostly of 100% Sangiovese, in some rare years it is occasionally complemented by a sip of Cannaiolo. The grapes are harvested by hand and immediately cooled, then the whole bunches are pressed, including stem and stalk, and the must is decanted after 24 hours. Spontaneous fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature between 13 and 15°C, then the wine is drawn off the full lees. It is then matured on the fine lees for about four months. Biological acid reduction is omitted in favour of freshness.
Color
Old pink, radiant and clear.
Nose
On the nose, the 2022 Il Corzanello Rosato from Corzano e Paterno is bursting with rich fruit and leaves no eye dry - juicy little strawberries, fully ripe wild raspberries and sour cherries fill its fruit basket, while delicate floral aromas of mallow and hibiscus float above all the splendour in the playful top note.
Mouth
The Corzanello Rostao also delivers super juicy on the palate, it is addressed to the joyfully fruity sides of life. The expansive fruit is dry as a bone on the palate, however, and the pH value is relatively low, which further enhances the overall dry character behind the strawberry excess. The acidity acts as a prompter in the background, the polished tannins also accelerate on the tongue. A fast-paced rose with great consensus potential without slipping onto the terrace or the seasonal shelf.
