Understanding the wine
A unique wine, born from a vineyard of only 0.4 hectares, whose grapes were once intended for Mas d'en Caçador. La Rodeda, hitherto unknown as an autonomous vineyard, has always been added to Mas d'en Caçador. But it is the exceptional composition of this vineyard - almost entirely planted with the rare Garnacha Peluda, or Lladoner Pelut, that produces this wine. What's more, the vineyard faces north and is one of the highest in Priorat. The soil, a proud mix of black Llicorella schist and red quartzite, produces a special character. Whole grapes were fermented and then fully matured in new French barriques.

Colour design
A rich, dense purple that reaches to the rim.

Aromatics
An intoxicating bouquet of sweet blackberries and warm blueberry pie, complemented by hints of liquorice, noble tobacco and smoky notes reminiscent of Islay whisky. Salty sea breezes mingle with notes of truffle and a deep earthiness. In addition, there is an excellent use of wood, which indicates outstanding winemaking. The wine is powerful yet complex and refined.

Taste experience
The freshness of 2019 La Rodeda Velles Vinyes is amazing, juicy and captivating. It is a real pleasure, even for those who have already experienced many exceptional wines. This elegant, cool and multi-faceted drop, overloaded with energy, sets new standards in the global wine landscape. To unfold its full range, the wine should be opened at least 2 hours before drinking and enjoyed from a large red wine glass.

Pairing suggestions
This wine is a great match for star anise gnocchi with mandarin sauce and coriander, prime Kobe beef with sea salt and olive oil accompanied by parsnips with rosemary or a peach gratin. Another excellent choice would be grilled pigeon with green lentils, pimientos de padrón and a mango-mint cream.
