Colour & Appearance

Deep dark, impenetrable purple that retains its colour intensity right to the rim – a visual promise of concentration and power.

Nose

An olfactory masterpiece of extraordinary complexity: fresh blackberries and warm blueberry cake meet liquorice and noble tobacco. Smoky notes evoke Islay whisky, whilst a salty sea breeze provides freshness. These are joined by truffle and earthy minerality – the new French barrique is perfectly integrated and underscores the multifaceted character without dominating.

Palate

Electrifyingly fresh and juicy, this wine catapults itself onto the tongue. The cool elegance and vibrant energy surprise even experienced tasters. Despite the 14% alcohol, the wine never feels heavy, instead impressing with finesse, precision and a remarkable tension. The fruit remains lively, carried by a mineral freshness that lends the Priorat a new dimension.

Finish

Long, cool and multifaceted – the salty and mineral notes linger whilst the fruit elegantly fades. A finale that invites contemplation.

Terroir & Origin

A tiny 0.4 hectare vineyard with northern exposure, one of the highest-altitude sites in the entire Priorat. The combination of black Llicorella slate and red quartzite gives this wine its distinctive minerality and cool elegance – terroir expression par excellence.

Grape Variety & Vinification

Almost 100% Garnacha Peluda (Lladoner Pelut) from vines of approximately 80 years old – a rare Grenache variant with distinctive character. Whole-bunch fermentation and maturation in new French barriques showcase the sovereign winemaking artistry of Carles Ortiz and Ester Nin.

Food Pairing Suggestions

Wagyu beef with sea salt, grilled pigeon with red lentils or surprisingly also liquorice gnocchi with orange sauce – this wine pairs well with powerful, aromatic dishes. Decant for two hours beforehand.
