Meinklang is a family-run Demeter farm in Pamhagen in the Seewinkel region on eastern Lake Neusiedl. The agricultural circular economy includes cattle farming for their own manure as well as fruit and wine growing.
Epic is a blend of Welschriesling, Muskateller and Grüner Veltliner, to which carbonic acid has been added after spontaneous fermentation. It is therefore a sparkling wine that promises to provide epic tippling pleasure when well chilled.
Color
Old gold with silky shimmer and fine perlage.
Nose
The 2022 Epic from Meinklang has a fruity nose reminiscent of Juicy Fruit, Tutti Frutti and Cujamara Split. In short, fruity pleasure, finely sparkling with the claim to bring drinking pleasure into the goblets in its uncomplicated way.
Mouth
On the palate, the impression of sherbet powder dominates at first, which is due to the joyfully foaming mousseux. The effervescent attack is followed by the juicy yellow fruit, contoured by citrus notes along with oils and juicy yellow fruit, but again a wild mix of tropical fruits and tutti frutti. All this flows wonderfully unagitated over the palate and spares the hairdo with a gentle 10.5%.
