Dark cherry red with light rim
Nose
On the nose, the 2017 Laderas de Montejurra from Emilio Valerio presents a variety of sweet and sour fruits. In addition to sour cherries, elderberries, cassis and currants can be found. Combined with a little Mediterranean herbs, some warm leather and beetroot, this makes for a nice overall picture. Cedar, a little clove and black olive also make a complementary appearance. A slightly reductive spice rounds off the nose excitingly.
Palate
The cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Garnacha shows itself balanced and cool on the palate. The dark fruit is paired with a light freshness. The wine from Navarra seems playful, light-footed and positively uncomplicated. The animal notes bring in spice and variety. A discreet tannin rounds off wonderfully in the finish. It literally offers "a mouthful of wine" and a very high price-pleasure ratio.
