Wine information
With a blend of 65 % Mourvèdre and 35 % Cinsault, the Bandol Rosé 2020 presents vines that thrive in an amphitheatre-shaped vineyard facing the sea, based on soils with clay, limestone and chalk of the Triassic age. While the Cinsault is pressed directly, the Mourvèdre is created through the saignée process, in which it is bled over the course of a day. The resulting juices are then fermented spontaneously within 20 days at 22 °C and then placed to rest in stainless steel vats for six months.
Colour scheme
The colour is an attractive light copper that plays with orange-red nuances.
Bouquet
An enchantingly fruity aroma with sweet peaches, juicy cherries, apple tart and red currant jelly combines harmoniously with gentle floral notes, dry pastry and a blend of fresh as well as dried Mediterranean herbs. A rosé that instantly draws you into its beguiling fragrance.
Taste
The Bandol Rosé 2020 is powerful and fresh on the palate, delighting with its abundant fruitiness, Mediterranean spice and impressive length on the palate. A touch of refreshing bitterness on the finish stimulates the appetite in an exceptional way. A rosé that sets rules and serves as a fantastic companion to culinary delights.
Food accompaniments
Try this rosé with a rich fish soup or a pissaladière with caramelised onions, anchovies, tomatoes, garlic and black olives. Or enjoy it with a Banon cheese, served with marinated fennel and cranberries for a sweet and sour note. Alternatively, this wine pairs wonderfully with grilled lamb and Mediterranean spices or even a spring salad with goat cheese and strawberries.
