Wine information
The wine comes from Grillo vines planted in 2005 in sandy and stony loam at an altitude of up to 500 metres. The grapes were harvested by hand in the early hours of the morning, brought to the cellar in small 8kg crates and gently pressed as whole bunches a few hours after harvesting. After 24 hours, fermentation took place with selected yeasts at 15 °C, followed by maturation for six months in stainless steel on fine lees at 10 °C with weekly bâtonnage.
Color
light straw yellow with light green reflexes
Nose
The 2022 4 filari Grillo is a brightly coloured and aromatic wine with notes of jasmine and broom, a hint of aniseed and elderberry, lemons and grapefruit. There is also a hint of bread crust.
Palate
On the palate, the wine stands for tart and savoury aspects of herbs and zests. Limes and grapefruits are just as much in play here as some fennel seeds and sage. The 4 filari Grillo provides freshness, light pressure, saltiness and a fine Mediterranean flavour.
