Wine information
The Chardonnay grapes of the Mâcon Blanc 2022 come from a 0.65-hectare plot at an altitude of 180 metres. The soil is characterised by Jurassic Bajocien limestone with silt and clay. The grapes come from eight-year-old vines planted in a dense planting of 8,000 vines per hectare. They were harvested on 28 August 2022. The whole bunches were pressed and fermented spontaneously. This was followed by malolactic fermentation. Ageing took place over eleven months at 50 % in tanks and 50 % in barrels. The pH value is 3.25 and the total sulphur is 46 mg/litre.
Color
light golden yellow
Nose
The Mâcon Blanc is an aromatically rich and ripe Chardonnay, typical of southern Burgundy. It smells of crunchy apples and pears, some carambola, yellow plum and lemons. There are also nuances of crushed stone and sage.
Palate
On the palate, the wine is juicy and pleasantly tart and fresh. The base is initially formed by ripe stone fruit. This is followed by notes of green plums, limequats and lemons, again crushed stone and herbs. The acidity is powerful, the Chardonnay salty and mouth-watering with a slightly creamy texture.
