Wine profile
Born from a winemaking adventure to explore the potential of extended amphora maturation, this exceptional wine is the result of a carefully engineered blend of three vintages that were individually matured before being happily combined just before bottling in the summer of 2018.
Color
A fascinating black cherry red hue, rich in colour and dense to the rim.
Aroma
Full of pleasure awaits the nose, a lush bouquet of blackberries, black cherries, sloes, mulberries, dates and dried figs. A spicy note is evident, with hints of cloves, cubeb pepper, cinnamon and star anise, accentuated by a cooling minerality and freshness, further enhanced by undertones of wild mint and rosemary.
Taste
On the palate, this incomparable Amphora Rosso 15 16 17 offers a confirmation of the expected freshness. Juicy and full of fresh, dark fruits, it is carried by a stimulating acidity and an invigorating tannic structure. This exciting red wine leaves a salty, spicy finish. Its finish is characterised by an abundance of fresh red and dark fruits and forms a perfect alliance with aromatic, hearty Mediterranean cuisine.
Food recommendations
Try this wine with fresh goat's cheese on crisp frisée salad or beetroot, garnished with maple syrup-glazed pecans. Flat wide ribbon pasta served with a hearty salsiccia red wine ragu and thyme is also an excellent choice. If you're a meat lover, this gem will go particularly well with lamb dishes with cinnamon plums and rosemary polenta.
