Wine information

The TO is a cuvée of Chardonnay , Sauvignon Blanc and Welschriesling. Heinz Velich has chosen a Hungarian name. Toto be precise, actually means See in Hungarian. Velich sees this cuvée as a homage to Lake Neusiedl. He builds the TO after spontaneous fermentation in large wood, stainless steel and tonneau.

Nose

The TO has established itself as one of the most individual and, in its league, certainly one of the most beautiful wines of Lake Neusiedl. On the nose, it is reminiscent of salt lemons, lemon cream and a little butter, papaya and a hint of apple cider combined with herbs such as mint and a little iodine or grated oyster shell. On top of that, there is a very subtle hint of volatile acidity, with a little yeast and tart notes of zest underneath.

Palate

On the palate, the TO A successful balance of freshness and silky creaminess, into which a firmer texture very slowly creeps. This year, the wood seems a little more present than in the previous vintage. But this in no way detracts from the class; the presence matches the juicy ripe fruit, the extract sweetness and spicy herbiness of the wine. The finish becomes increasingly salty and slightly tart with zesty bitter notes of grapefruit peel. This is truly a distinctly individual and beautiful wine.
