Wine information
The 2021 Chapelle 1441 is named after a restored chapel in the centre of Riquewihr and is produced from five different parcels. One is on the limestone soils of the Grand Cru Froehn, planted in the 1960s; three other parcels are located around Riquewihr.
Color
Medium ruby red with medium transparency
Nose
This is a finely spiced, lively Pinot Noir that combines crisp red and dark berry fruit with notes of rock, pepper and undergrowth. This comes across as down-to-earth in a very pleasant way and at the same time has a successful degree of finesse.
Palate
This impression continues on the palate. The Chapelle 1441 presents itself crisp, fresh, spicy and piquant. It seems as if there is a good dose of ripe sable in play here. You can chew the wine, you get a mouthful of wine with a lot of juice and a tannin that gives the Pinot Noir a successful structure. This is not overly complex, but definitely sophisticated, but at the same time, above all, easy to drink with an agile acidity determined by the lime.
