This exquisite Syrah wine selection is rooted in the diverse soils of Condrieu, Verin and Roussillon, with each grape variety bringing its unique nuances of alluvial, granitic and glacial till soils to bear. To make this wine jewel, a 24-hour pre-fermentation was carried out at cool temperatures, followed by a cool carbonic maceration for ten days and finally eight months of ageing in cuve. The unadulterated character of this wine was maintained by refraining from any filtration, clarification or addition of sulphur.

In terms of appearance, the wine offers a charming medium purple with enchanting violet reflections. The nose is enveloped by an invigorating freshness and dark fruitiness, in which a strong minty violet scent mingles with notes of blackberries, elderberries and a hint of cassis. A subtle hint of crushed stone and liquorice perfectly rounds off the fragrance profile.

Once in the mouth, the Syrah unfolds its lively, almost youthful personality, which is gracefully supported by the pressing acidity and silky tannin. The flavour profile is characterised by mint, iodine, liquorice, black olives, grilled herbs and full-bodied dark fruit.

To complement the taste experience of the wine, I recommend a selection of quail ragout with truffles, a pheasant paste with blueberries or a beetroot salad with candied almonds and creamy goat cheese.
