The essence of wine
The red Tement is harmoniously composed of 50 % Blauer Zweigelt and 50 % Cabernet Sauvignon, cultivated on weathered soils in various locations in southern Styria, thanks to vines that enjoy a proud 12 to 45 years of experience.
With regard to the refinement
Thanks to spontaneous fermentation, this impressive wine matured for 80 months in wooden barrels, which gave it its characteristic complexity.
A strong violet red appeals to the eye and underlines the intense personality of this wine.
The 2015 RT from old vines unfolds an intense, atmospheric aroma of cassis, blackberry, sour cherry, eucalyptus and wild mint on the nose. Oxygen contact brings out the noble notes of dark chocolate, black Kampot pepper, tree bark, porcini mushrooms, beetroot and truffles - a sumptuous, profound aromatic profile that promises both power and grace.
When it hits the tongue, it captivates with a fascinating salty-spicy note that seamlessly combines with the juicy dark fruit, a refreshing acidity and the perfectly matured tannin. A truly impressive, powerful red wine that once again convinces with depth and elegance. Ideal companion to intense grilled and braised dishes, ideally served slightly chilled and from large glasses.
In keeping with the complexity of this wine, it lends itself to intense, powerful dishes. Think of a mushroom lasagne with a crisp lamb's lettuce. Accompanied by a beef steak, topped with herb butter and complemented by roasted potatoes, the wine unfolds its full glory. Another option would be a slow braised duck leg served with red cabbage, parsnips, quince and a hint of truffle.
