Finely shining chimney red with light reflexes and slightly brown rim
Nose
The Roero from Valfaccenda in 2020 combines fruit and balsamic to ethereal aromas. Sour cherry par exellence with a little plum make the start and play big. Blackberry, mulberry and redcurrant play second fiddle. The bass is a dark spice reminiscent of coffee beans, cocoa and dark chocolate. Deep, dark tones are added by the earthy, spicy nuance. White pepper brings light tones into play. The finesse and the truly interesting comes from the Mediterranean spice in the form of sage and rosemary.
Palate
On the palate, it combines all of this into a symbiosis. Cool, racy and fine, it lives from a taut acid structure. The tannin provides subtle support without coming to the fore. The astringency is perfectly dosed and encourages drinking. Best enjoyed in large sips. Its fine mineral robe elegantly clothes it. Fruit and earthiness have a simultaneous effect on the palate. Its typical rusty character is clearly convincing. Its ethereal spiciness comes to the fore in the aftertaste, especially in the form of pine twigs and cones. Animating, exciting and great. Pinot Noir full of finesse that could not be more elegant in its Piedmontese interpretation.
